Madalyn has a blanket, which she calls Pink Blankie. Pink Blankie has always been Maddie’s favorite comfort object, but recently Pink Blankie has begun to take on more human qualities and emotions. This was apparent as I prepared our Fourth of July picnic dinner. Maddie approached me and asked what I was doing, and I explained that this food was for us to eat while we waited for the fireworks to start.
“Oh!” Maddie cried with great excitement. Then she praised, “Pink Blankie is SO proud of you!”
